ironhead 77 aircraft paint stripper

Was out one day and stopped at my friend Brian's house. Got to looking over the bike. Next thing ya know He's got the the Aircraft stripper and started to brush the tank. With the first curling of the old paint could see words forming. BLACK MAGIC.

A little farther and found some wings. This bike was loved at one point. The paint job was layed with paint, a leveler, then primer then metal. We took a little more off cause the Black Magic paint job was covered over with all black then blue like someone tried to make lighting. Then my rattle can across the top of that.

I wonder where this bike was. I don't know the history of the bike. I thought for a while that it might have been a covered over rebel bike for the political correctness of the times. I have not been able to find out any information about it.

The only markers I could find on the web have been painted over except for the inner wells of the rear fender. The rebel bikes all had a specific silvery blue paint. From what I found underneath and the fact the front fender is chopped off where the gold leaf was.

I don't know it could still be a painted over rebel. To be named black magic then to be pained over that union color lighting, maybe, who knows. It does have the silvery blue under the rear well. I called Harley n they told me all they could find for that year was xlcr cafe. This is xlch a4h7 frame and engine. Decided to keep it just like this for a while, shot some clear over top. I still need to do the fenders. So named Black Magic after this adventure I'm calling her the Black B!@#$ got her own attitude. Loud and proud.
